Lately it seems like all we hear about on TV is the drug addictions of our celebrities. If it is not Britney Spears, it’s Lindsay Lohan or tragically the death of Keith Ledger. Drug use and addiction has become so prevalent in our society that no one bats an eye anymore, when hearing about these tragedies in the news. What’s even harder to admit is that the extent of the problem of drug use and addicting hits a lot closer to home than most of us want to admit.
We may not realize it but sometimes addictions bring down not only the addicted person, but also the family structure of that person. No one is an island. Addictions are devastating afflictions that can lead to depression, destruction of personal and professional relationships, loss of jobs and domicile, loss of custody of children, mental and physical injury and sadly sometimes the loss of life. This is why sometimes intervening with that addiction is necessary.
As in the current case with Britney Spears, where her parents had to intervene, many times the addicted person may want help but is not capable of seeking it on their own because the addiction is overpowering, so someone else has to step in.
If your in this situation or know someone who can benefit from this information, there are places that can help. At Malibu- Drug Rehab, they are there to help you, help someone else. Renaissance Malibu has become the leading holistic residential healing center in the world. On the beach in Malibu, the center focuses on freedom from addictions, but also healing life wounds and reconnecting with spirit core, all in an environment of beauty and serenity.
Some of the Services available are:
- Psychiatric Evaluations
- Individual Therapy
- Group Therapy
- EMDR
- Equine Assisted Therapy
- Art Therapy
- Adventure Therapy
- Meditation Therapy
- Detox
- Nutritional Therapy
- Yoga
- Family Therapy
And the list goes on. With so many types of therapies, there is bound to be an intervention that works. What is important is to take that first step in the intervention process, and get the addicted person into a program that will give them their life back, and put them on the road to recovery.

When you are struggling with your weight, it’s difficult to figure out how to get where you want to be. But I think we make it more difficult than it needs to be. It’s a matter of taking that first step.
There are many diets out there, and some of them work for some and others don’t. It’s a matter of informing yourself and making the right decision for you. With all the information available on the internet these days, there are many places to find the information that is going to help you make a good decision.
One of those places is a site that reviews diets and has loads of information on all kinds of diets, it has a chat room where you can communicate with others going through the same thing and you can also sign up for their free newsletter that keeps you up to date.
Although it has reviews of around 300 diets, my favorite one is Weight Watchers. Mostly because it’s been around for about 40 years, and it’s a proven diet. It’s not about eating hay for 3 months, it’s about developing healthy eating and life habits that will transform your life. It can either be done with a local group where you go and meet with a counselor to work out a personal plan for you or, you can do it through the online community at Weight Watchers online, where you will find Support Forums, monitor your progress and have access to 100’s of great recipes.
Whatever diet you decide to choose, just take the first step, and your on your way…

Need to De-Stress? Try a Body Wrap…
January 29th, 2008 at 08:02 pm by bibi in Reviews, Sponsored PostI don’t know about you but there are days when life just get’s to be too much. The stress of just everyday living needs to be toned down a notch. I usually don’t have time for a getaway to a Spa, but what I have found time for is to treat myself to a Body Wrap at home.
At the end of the week I look forward to treating myself to a couple of hours of peace and quite and a Seaweed Body Wrap. I’ve had one of these done at a Spa and came out feeling new. Now I can do the same in the comfort of my own home for half the price.
Now there are many claims that are made of these Seaweed Wraps. Some make claims that they can Detox your body, some say that they can help with weight loss, others claim to help firm your skin or get rid of the cellulite. With all the natural ingredients that are found in these wraps there has to be some kind of benefit. Some of the ingredients include, Dead Sea Clay, Blue Green Algae, Allantoin, Alfalfa Powder, Ginger Root Powder, Fennel Seed Powder, Stinging Nettles Powder, Dead Sea Salt, Peppermint Leaf, Seaweed Clay, Laonin Clay and the list goes on. But, the one good thing is that you can tell is that they are all natural ingredients, and that is important.
Personally, I find the wraps to be stimulating and relaxing at the same time, a gift I give to myself at the end of a hard working week. The other effects that come with the wraps are just the Cherry on top.

I found this cool People Search site called Spock.com. You can search for friends, family members, long lost High School Sweethearts or just your favorite actor or pop singer. When you people search at Spock.com, the search engine goes out and gathers all the information that is out on the web about that particular person, location or even keyword and arranges it all neatly for you in one place. People can be searched by their name, e-mail, or Tags, which the person can add to their own profile or the Tags can be put on there by other members.
Spock.com - the best people search on the Web, whatever you are looking for you’ll find it there. For example if you are doing a research paper for college. Let say your paper will be on Leonardo Da Vinci, for an art class. So I type in artist and painter, Da Vinci, and I get a compilation of all sites that carry any information on Da Vinci. It’s great. Or maybe you, and the rest of the world, are interested in Britney Spears, when you search her name you’ll get, her statistic, how many boyfriends and husbands she’s had, who they are links to them etc., etc. Let’s say your interests are more Politically inclined, and you want to know which candidates are Pro Choice. Do a People Search and type in the keyword, Pro-choice, it will spit out a list of all candidates that are Pro-Choice, links to their profiles and their personal websites, and any and all news related to them.
Some of the other features at Spock.com include being able to add all your friends, family and co-workers from your address book and across social networks, you’ll be able to see your friends profiles in MySpace, LinkedIn, Blog, find info from Wikipedia and create your own Network. They have widgets with the information that you are searching for, which can be embedded into any website.
Check it out, it’s worth signing up and it’s free…

Back Pain Doesn’t Have To Affect Your Whole Life…
January 24th, 2008 at 11:00 pm by bibi in Reviews, Sponsored PostI got hurt at work almost three years ago and my life has not been the same since. I have a lower back strain that just won’t go away. It not only affected my professional life but also my life at home. One of my biggest passions is gardening, I could spend a whole day in the yard and not notice the time pass. Yard work is heavy work, a lot of bending, lifting, just physical work overall, which I have always loved to do. But, since my injury, I am lucky if I last an hour out there. And the funny part is that you would say, OK, so no more physical work, big deal, you can live with that. But, this Back Pain, comes even when I sit too long. Sitting at my desk doing bills or even at the Computer can only last like an hour, then I have to get up. Long Car trips are torture, and even sleeping has become a pain. I have to keep my sleep to no more than 6.5hrs or I pay for it for the rest of the day.
I have been through several doctors and always end up with a prescription in my hand for something to kill the pain, or the suggestion for some type of shots that would block the pain. Well, I have always tried to stay away from medicines and can not imagine being on pain killer for the rest of my life. I’ve been actively looking for pain relief through natural means. So when I came across this site http://www.losethebackpain.com , I was curious what they had to say. Well what I found is that they are a wealth of Info on Back Pain, Low Back Pain, and Sciatica. They have free Pain Relief Guides on any kind of back pain. Each guide covers information on the causes of Back Pain, why the usual treatment don’t always work, or work short term only, and how to make informative decisions on choosing the strategies that will keep you pain free.
Check out the site: http://www.losethebackpain.com, you’ll be glad you did.

Preserving The Family History in a Family Website
January 21st, 2008 at 11:28 pm by bibi in Reviews, Sponsored PostHalf our family lives in Europe, some live in South America, the others live 500 miles away here in the US. Last week our son brought up the idea that it would be nice to have a centralized place where the whole family could share our pictures, our family trees, our stories, our lives. All would be saved for generations to come. In this day and age where families are spread out throughout the world, and all are not always able to get together or even have time share stories, Family Websites would be a perfect solution.
The same week we were talking about this, I came across a website, http://www.familycrossings.com that does just that. Just think about it one central website where all members of the family would have access to it. A Secure Family Network where you can chat with any family member, anytime, share photos and videos, there is also a Family Calendar, where you can share and remind each other of up and coming Family events.
There are two ways to join:
The Free Version comes with 5 Core features and 150mb of space, and is sponsored by ads.
The features include: Family News, Family Photos, Family Calendar, Family Address Book, Live Chat, Gift Center.
The Premium Version: You’ll find 15 features and 250mb of space. This Version is not Ad Sponsored.
The features include: All the features in the Free Version plus , Family History, Family Database, Family Wishes, Family Polls, Special Offers and Games.
And if we run out of room we have the option to add more storage place.
This sounds like the perfect solution for us. Can’t wait to get started.

With the price of gas today its no wonder people are looking for ways out of the commute. If you cannot telecommute, a great way to get out struggling through the commute is to Ride Share. Besides the obvious advantages of saving you money at the gas pump, think about the good you’ll be doing the environment and the friends you’ll be making along the way.
Everyone talks about how it’s time we do something to clean up the environment, how we have to come up with alternative fuels and our Carbon Footprint and Greenhouse Emissions and Carbon Credits and how our Governments are not doing enough to secure our time here on earth. Well it’s time that we really take on some of that responsibility, yes, us, the individuals. We’ve gotten so used to riding around in our gas-guzzling behemoths that we only think about what they are doing to the environment, when it starts squeezing our pockets.
Just think, let’s say you have a car for 5 people and you agreed to carpool with another 4 people at or around your work. That would mean that it would take 4 other cars off the road, that savings in greenhouse emissions is immeasurable. It would cut your gas expenses by 80%, that means if you spend $60 dollars a week on gas commuting, you could cut your costs down to $12, that’s a saving of $48 a week/ $192 a month/ $2304 a year. Now that’s a chunk of change, and you’ll be doing Mother Nature a favor.
RideSearch.com Carpool is a new carpooling website designed for easy communication and searching between people who live near where you live and work.
Think about it, you’ll be helping yourself and our earth.
Well, maybe you don’t have to go this far…
