To continue the family business, is his duty, to help save the oceans and the rivers of the world is his passion. Philippe Cousteau Jr., the grandson of the infamous Jacques and son of the equally famous father Philippe, side by side with sister Alexandra, continue the work of the family by filming nature documentaries and educating people on becoming better stewards of this earth.
Wearing many hats at once it seems, the array of his work spans from filming documentaries on the beauty of the underworld, to the fierceness of it’s inhabitant. Ironically while filming a documentary called “Ocean’s Deadliest” for the Animal Planet, where he is Chief Ocean Correspondent, Cousteau witnessed the death of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. He also films public announcements about environmental issues, but no matter what he is doing his core mission never wanes, to save the earth’s waters from humanity’s impact. Along with his family he has formed a non-profit organization called EarthEcho International, an environmental action group whose motto is “Everything you do makes a difference”.
Here’s a video about the EarthEcho International teaming up with Vans Warped Tour that travels around the country raising awareness about environmental issues.

I am glad to hear that he is carrying on, whether it is in his fathers name or not. We need more like him to get nature on film and how its doing. Great news!
Living in California the ocean is a huge part of our life. Watching the disappearance of one species after another just breaks my heart. This work is so critical to the future of our planet I’m so glad he continues to follow in his fathers footsteps.
I loved Philippe Cousteau Jr. and I hope that he will continue to show the world the most beautiful ocean part…
Any mechanism which helps promote the beautiful world in which we all live, is a good thing in my opinion.
The oil oligarchs rape, steal, and pillage our land and seas for the only benefit of filling their fat wallets.
It is time, we the little people stood up to them, and said enough is enough.
Imagine a world with no money, where we survive on the fat of the land. Man and nature at one with another. Bliss.
We have become too separated from reality. Greed, money, and power are false identities which are having a major detrimental effect on the world as a whole.
