Half our family lives in Europe, some live in South America, the others live 500 miles away here in the US. Last week our son brought up the idea that it would be nice to have a centralized place where the whole family could share our pictures, our family trees, our stories, our lives. All would be saved for generations to come. In this day and age where families are spread out throughout the world, and all are not always able to get together or even have time share stories, Family Websites would be a perfect solution.

The same week we were talking about this, I came across a website, http://www.familycrossings.com that does just that. Just think about it one central website where all members of the family would have access to it. A Secure Family Network where you can chat with any family member, anytime, share photos and videos, there is also a Family Calendar, where you can share and remind each other of up and coming Family events.

There are two ways to join:

The Free Version comes with 5 Core features and 150mb of space, and is sponsored by ads.

The features include: Family News, Family Photos, Family Calendar, Family Address Book, Live Chat, Gift Center.

The Premium Version: You’ll find 15 features and 250mb of space. This Version is not Ad Sponsored.

The features include: All the features in the Free Version plus , Family History, Family Database, Family Wishes, Family Polls, Special Offers and Games.

And if we run out of room we have the option to add more storage place.

This sounds like the perfect solution for us. Can’t wait to get started.

  1. babs Said,

Thanks for the tip. FamilyCrossings was exactly what I was looking for - a family website and a family social network -combined.
