What can we do to help, to lend a hand in the clean up effort?

There are many things that people can do to help, even if we are not there:

Planning a Vacation?

  • Go to the states affected and spend your money there. The local economies will be needing help for months and maybe years to come. Make these beautiful areas part of your plans for future vacations.

Have the Time and the Money? Volunteer!

Have the money but not the time?

Check out Larry King’s “DISASTER IN THE GULF: How You Can Help,” Telethon.

“Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help” is aimed at raising funds for the United Way, National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy. The telethon will air Monday June 21, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern.

  1. irtiza104 Said,

Sadly, i will not be able to donate, visit the place or work as a volunteer. I live in a far away country from the gulf, Bangladesh. But i think i am doing what i can from here. I have written two posts about the gulf. One stating 12 facts and another, what we can do to reduce the effects.

    Best wishes

  2. Anna Said,

People can also donate their used electronics (cell phones, digital cameras, etc.) to benefit the National Wildlife Federation’s Gulf clean-up efforts. Here’s a link for more info: http://recycle4acause.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/unite-for-the-gulf/
