Today we are joining thousands of Bloggers throughout the world, to make people aware of different types of abuse in the world.
My chosen topic is Animal Abuse, recently very much in the news with the Micheal Vick story of fighting and abusing dogs in his home in Virginia. And most recently, with the case of a rapper turned actor DMX, who is being investigated for animal cruelty to 12 Pit Bulls in Arizona and who formerly pleaded guilty to charges of 13 counts of animal cruelty in New Jersey back in 1999.
These stories help bring the subject of Animal Abuse to the limelight, but people need to be aware that this is happening all the time, all around us. The problem is nobody pays attention unless someone famous is doing it.
There are things we can do to prevent abuse:
- Get involved with Pet-Abuse.com. they keep a database of Animal Abusers, whether they have been convicted or not. They educate the public on Animal Abuse, they get people involved to prevent and put an end to Animal Abuse.
- Take care of the pets you have. Educate yourself
- Make a donation to Pet-Abuse.com
- Volunteer and Donate to a local Animal Shelter
- Get Involved with your local Government
- Be aware of the Animals around you, if you suspect anything , report it to your local shelter. They will go and investigate.
-
- Be aware of your neighborhood pets:
- Maybe there is an elderly person who could use some help taking care of their pets. You could help.
- Maybe their some kids in the neighborhood who are mistreating their pets or animals in general. You could educate.
- Maybe you know someone who would be a good pet owner, you can direct them to a local shelter instead of a breeder.
- Maybe you know a pet owner who doesn’t have their pet spayed or neutered, you can explain and convince them that there are way too many cats and dogs without homes and good pet owners already.

Hello everyone!
I worked as a volunteer at the Humane Society. I do work with the dogs and cats there. I see many cases of animal cruelty. Mainly starvation cases. I wanna stress the importance of these animals finding good homes and if you cant take care of an animal properly how important it is to make sure they find a good home before it is too late. The Human society will take any animals that are unijured into their shelter. We run mainly on donations so anything you can donate to these animals helps!!! We do major pet adoptions in Salt Lake City on saturday afternoons please come check us out.
If you see or know about any animal abuse cases please dont hesitate to contact us you maybe saving that animals life.
thank you

Thank you for this post and for helping to spread the word! I am a vegetarian and my lifetime job is to fight for animals by working to educate others. Feel free to check out my website! <3
I’m going to show this to all my friend! i think it’s really moving
Thanks so much! This made me set up a stand to sell shirts and all of the money i get will be donated to the local animal shelter!
since i was little i’ve cared for animals. i can’t even find an animal on the road and bring it to the shelter in fear that they will euthanize the animal. i never have trusted shelters very much because they euthanize animals if they don’t have enough room for the new ones. i think animal abuse and the animal shelters should be stopped from hurting animals.
Dear Mercedes,
Unfortunately not every shelter is the same. But thee are many shelters, like the one I volunteer at that have come around to become low or no-kill shelters.
It’s important that we spread the word about spaying and neutering pets, making stricter laws that prohibit puppy mills, educating the public about adopting pets instead of buying them at stores that get them from the puppy mills and educating the public about the necessity of raising public funds for these shelters so that they have the money that it takes to be able to maintain more animals instead of having to euthanize them.
Thanks for your concern and for stopping by…
